What it would be like to own your own business?
Is it possible to have a life where you could make decisions based upon what you believe to be the best course of action vs. being told the direction you needed to go?
What would it would be like to set your own hours, work with the people you want to work with, on the projects that get you excited?
If you can identify with these questions as I certainly have in the past, what has stopped you from taking action? Perhaps you currently work in a job that provides for you and your family, but you’re left unfulfilled, dissatisfied, and questioning if this is what you’re going to do until you’re able to retire one day.
With today’s access to limitless resources, we can easily become overwhelmed with what we “should do” and what we “shouldn’t do”- which sometimes leaves us in a paralyzed state worried about making a wrong decision. Everyone has an opinion and has no issues sharing theirs openly with you. There is no one-size fits all solution when it comes to setting up, launching, and building a business. You are unique. Your desires, past experiences, and current circumstances are relevant factors that will shape and define the approach you’ll need to take to get started and succeed.
After years of working in both corporate environments as well as operating my own businesses, I have come to define success for me as:
1) Working in an environment that I am passionate about
2) Allows me to help others- have a positive impact on their lives
3) Is not tied to a physical location- allowing me to travel when I desire
4) Provides a livable income source
How do you define success? Is it based on money, a dream you’ve always had, a special talent, a desire to help others, a set number of products you want to create or books you want to write, or number of online followers you have?
Will your definition of success sustain you over the ups and downs of starting your own business? Will it motivate and drive you 5 years, 10 years from now? As with many things in life, your definition of success may change over time as you grow and learn from your experiences.
You’ve been thinking about making a change in your life, thinking about starting a business, thinking about what could be. How are you going to respond? What are your Next Steps?
Action Response #1- You can choose to do nothing. Continue to “think about it” but take no action. Your life will not change and it will look the same in a year as it does today, as it looked a year ago. Taking this response is the “safe bet”. You won’t need to become uncomfortable. You won’t need to take on any risks. Or will you? Is your current income keeping pace with life’s needs, with inflation? Or is your income slowly being eroded by rising costs, by new costs that you have little control over? Will you suddenly find fulfillment in your current circumstances, or will you lower your desires and ambition and settle in life?
Action Response #2- You can choose to continue to research your options. There is no shortage of good and bad advice online that will have you spinning your perpetual plate as you look for the “perfect” solution. This response isn’t much different than Response #1, as you remain in a “safe zone” by choosing to not make any decisions. How long have you been in this continual research response mindset already? 6 months? A year? Longer? It is time to have an honest conversation with yourself and choose to make a change.
Action Response #3- You can choose to take action now! Stop searching and begin to put action into motion based upon what you already know and what I will teach you. Let me help guide you to successfully setup, launch, and grow a thriving business that is right for YOU. Take action by signing up to receive information on how to get started today!
